President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his readiness to meet with his American counterpart Donald Trump if he receives an invitation to «a constructive dialogue».
He said this in a conversation with British journalists, speaking in Ukrainian through an interpreter. The video of this conversation was published by «ICTV Facts».
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that he was not going to apologise to Donald Trump after the dispute in the White House, as this situation did not have a positive impact on the peace process in Ukraine. At the same time, he stressed that it is best to leave this incident in the past.
«I represent the interests of a country that is very dependent on support and partnership. If I am invited for a constructive dialogue, for solving real problems, for serious questions and real decisive answers, I will be there,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President also stressed that he was ready to visit Washington again, as the United States remained one of Ukraine's key partners.
In addition, he said that Ukraine was not abandoning the agreement with the United States on minerals and was ready to sign it at any time. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the latest version of the agreement has already been agreed upon and can be signed at the ministerial level.
The President stressed that it was important for him that Ukraine's position be heard and assured that the country's policy would remain consistent.
As a reminder, the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the United States Donald Trump on Friday, 28 February, was ended early. The conversation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Donald Trump and J.D. Vance at the White House turned to a higher tone.
