The peace plan is 90% agreed: Zelenskyy talks about agreements with the US

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and the United States had finalised a significant part of the documents within the so-called peace package.

He said this at a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump after talks at the Mar-a-Lago residence, according to «European Truth».

According to the President, the parties have made significant progress on security guarantees, which Ukraine considers a key element of future agreements.

«The 20-point plan has been agreed upon by 90%, US security guarantees — by 100%, joint US-EU security guarantees for Ukraine — almost agreed upon, and the military dimension (of these guarantees) has been agreed upon by 100%,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

At the same time, the President noted that work on certain documents was still ongoing. In particular, the plan for the country's economic recovery is being finalised and the sequence of implementation of the peace agreement is being agreed upon.

«The plan for Ukraine's prosperity is being finalised, and we are also discussing the sequence of actions,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He emphasised that security guarantees are the foundation for achieving lasting peace.

«We agreed that security guarantees will be the basis for achieving a lasting peace,» the President of Ukraine said.

Following the talks, the two leaders confirmed their intention to continue the dialogue. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian and American teams will meet in the coming weeks.

«We have agreed that the teams will meet in the coming weeks, and President Trump has agreed to receive us in January, probably in Washington,» he added.

As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump met in Florida on 28 December.

It should also be noted that European leaders positively assessed the results of the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, as well as their telephone conversation with the participation of the leaders of a number of European countries.
