It would be right and just for Poland to shoot down Russian missiles flying towards Western Ukraine to protect gas storage facilities supplying gas to Europe.
Resident of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a press conference.
He stressed that gas from these storages is used by «skeptic countries» in NATO. Therefore, he believes that this skepticism should decrease.
«If we do not protect our gas storages, these countries will remain without gas during the heating season. Our closest neighbors,» emphasized Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He also reminded that Ukraine has signed bilateral security guarantees with Poland, where the technical direction of this issue is considered.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said that Warsaw is considering Kyiv's proposal to shoot down Russian missiles headed for Polish territory while they are still in Ukrainian airspace.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine and the European Union signed an agreement on security guarantees. It guarantees Kyiv continued supply of weapons, training and other assistance in the field of security for years to come.
