In Mykolaiv in 2024, an Alley of Remembrance will be created and digital memorials for fallen soldiers will be installed

In Mykolaiv, they will create an Alley of memory of the defenders who died defending the integrity and independence of Ukraine.

During the meeting of the Mykolaiv City Council commission on legality, Iryna Kocheva, the deputy head of the department for war veterans, told «NikVesti».

In particular, the administration proposes to install digital monuments to fallen soldiers, where you can learn about the history of the fallen heroes by scanning the QR code on the memorial boards. Information about the fallen soldiers will be stored on the basis of the Ukrainian service «Bank of Memories».

— We plan to create an avenue where the fallen defenders of Ukraine will be honored. This issue is dealt with by the DHCS and ME «Mykolaiv Ritual Service». On the part of our department, we are considering the possibility of installing portraits of fallen heroes from our city in other places. We plan to agree on a place where this can be done. There is also such a story as a memory bank, where a QR code is installed, which can be scanned and read about the hero and learn something about him. We plan to implement these issues next year, and they have been brought up for discussion, — Iryna Kocheva said.

The head of the commission, Olena Kiselyova, noted that this issue could have been resolved earlier if the administration had notified the commission in a timely manner.

As you know, on October 3, in one of the Mykolaiv lyceums, the «Kalynova Alley of Memory» was opened in honor of the hero graduates who died during the full-scale war.

We will remind, on the Day of defenders, Mykolaiv residents and military personnel who participated in the defense of the city at the beginning of the full-scale war were awarded. For their courage, loyalty and indomitable will, more than 70 people received the award «For the defense of Mykolaiv».

It should be noted that on September 15, the presentation of the medal «For the defense of Mykolaiv» took place. 7 Mykolaiv artists, sculptors and heraldists took part in the development of the award sketch. Among all proposals, a sketch by the sculptor Yaroslav Ryasnyanskyy was chosen.
