The Mykolaivvoblteploenerho utility company plans to install modular cogeneration units that can fully supply Mykolaiv's infrastructure with electricity.
The director of the company, Mykola Lohvinov, told about this during a briefing on Wednesday, December 20, NikVesti reports.
According to the director of the KP, the installation of cogeneration units is a new type of activity that the enterprise received, noting that previously Mykolaivoblteploenerho had similar Soviet-style equipment with a capacity of 0.6 MW.
«We had a 0.6 MW cogeneration plant and we produced electricity. In 2019, it was preserved, because it was an old Soviet model. Now KP is installing new cogeneration plants based on European machines. We are already installing four installations that will provide 4 MW of electrical energy. And there is a plan to build 22 MW of electric energy capacity in order to provide the city of Mykolaiv with its electric energy completely. That is, if we succeed in this plan, then we will close all the need of the critical infrastructure of Mykolaiv for electric energy and will be able to work in island mode,» said Mykola Lohvinov.
Currently, the company is installing 4 installations that fully cover the electricity needs of Oblteplo itself, and will also partially cover the needs of Mykolaivvodokanal.
It will be recalled that the director of Mykolaivvoblteploenerho Mykola Lohvinov positively evaluated his utility company in the matter of starting heat to the homes of Mykolaiv residents this year.
