Sienkevych reacted to the meme about «bunnies-deputies» in Mykolaiv City Council: «Turn off the microphones»

The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, commented on the behavior of city council members during the session, when after the results of voting on issues important to the executive power, one of the officials called them bunnies.

In a comment to the «NikVesti» correspondent, the mayor advised the deputies not to have informal conversations during the sessions or to turn off the microphone in time.

It will be recalled that during the session on October 26, the representative of the pro-Mer party «Proposition», the secretary of the city council, Dmytro Falko, as well as one of the heads of the municipal property management of the city, Tetiana Dmytrova, called Mykolaiv deputies «bunnies».

It all started with the fact that the official uttered «well done, bunnies, well done», seeing how local deputies enthusiastically and willingly support the unification of a number of communal property issues into a «package». In particular, issues that caused a resonance in the local community were united, for example, about the liquidation of maternity homes, which will now be attached to hospitals. Also, the transfer of communal property rights and the increase of the authorized capital of the utility enterprise «Operational Line Management of Motorways» and the approval of the Charter in the new edition.

In response to this, Oleksandr Sienkevych said that he did not consider it necessary to give an assessment of this situation, but asked the deputies to monitor their microphones.

— I do not think that the mayor should answer this question. If someone didn't turn off the microphone and say: «Well done, you voted for my question, bunnies», well, I don't think I even need to comment on that. I can tell all people who use electronic means of communication today, including when they participate in a session, to make sure that they turn off their microphones. And from the position of the city council regarding the deputy corps, this does not match, — said Oleksandr Sienkevych.

At the same time, the mayor noted as positive the fact that the sessions are held at all, even taking into account the online format.

— Moreover, I can say that I am personally glad that the sessions are taking place, most of the questions are being passed. Questions that have disputes, do not have 100% understanding, do not pass, it is normal, democratic, and even the fact that the sessions are held online, it does not harm the city to continue to live and sometimes develop, — he said.

We remind you that in January 2023, the head of Mykolaiv RMA Vitalii Kim said that in Mykolaiv there is no need to introduce a military administration and dissolve the city council, since the deputies support draft decisions of the executive power, «they do not block and do not discuss a lot».
