«We have to suffer another month to forget about it for 10 years,» — Mykolaiv CHP about when they will finish repairing networks on Mariupolska Street

The Mykolaiv CHP announced that the repair of the heating network along Mariupolska Street, which began at the end of September, will be completed in a month.

Dmytro Myroshnychenko, general director of the CHP, told about this in a comment to NikVesti.

It is worth noting that from September 2023, in the Central District of Mykolaiv, CHP employees will replace 300 meters of pipe. Because of this, Mariupolska Street in the city center has been in a dilapidated condition for over a month. As of November 6, pedestrian and vehicular traffic is still blocked there.

According to Dmytro Myroshnychenko, during excavation works for the replacement of heating networks, unauthorized cut-outs for electricity and water supply were discovered, which caused work delays.

— During the repair work, it was practically impossible to dig with an excavator, because people made unauthorized cuts in electricity or water, so it was necessary to coordinate with various enterprises several times. The welding work will be completed by the end of the week. It will take at least another three weeks to complete the land works. But now we will forget about this section of the heating network for 10 years. If we had not repaired it, we could have dug it two or three times during the heating season. Therefore, it is necessary to suffer conditionally for another month and then forget about the repair of this section of the heating network for 10 years, — said Dmytro Myroshnychenko.

A tender for the reconstruction of almost 300 meters of the thermal main along Mariupolska Street was announced in July 2023. The cost of the works is 24 million 56 thousand hryvnias.

As you know, the section of the heating network along Moskovska Street has been operated without major repairs for more than 25 years and is one of the most problematic in the city. From 2015 to 2020, 16 heat network accidents occurred in this area. The project provided for the complete replacement of existing heat pipes, as well as the reconstruction of heat pipe assemblies in thermal chambers. Consumers of thermal energy are residential buildings and objects of social and cultural purpose.

In 2019, a representative of «Mykolaivska CHP» stated that the company changed 30 meters of heating networks on Moskovska Street and most likely will no longer arrange excavations for the repair of communications.

As a reminder, in the fall of 2021, it became known that «Mykolaivska CHP» spent about 3.5 million hryvnias for the current repair of the heating network on Mariupolska Street (former Moskovska Street) over five years. In 2022, it was planned to renovate the area between Admiral Makarov Street and Potomkinska Street, but the project was not implemented due to the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
