Mykolaiv Oblast is equipped with generators and has a power reserve that is three times higher than the electricity needs.

The head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim said this at a press conference on Tuesday, December 26, NikVesti reports.

According to him, there are generators in the shelters, which have a power three times greater than the needs of the Mykolaiv region. In addition, 27 of the most important energy and gas supply facilities are provided with additional engineering protection.

«After the blackout. What has been done. Yes, I will not say anything about the second level. 27 most important objects were protected. No, I will say. Mykolaiv in terms of transformer capacity, what we did thanks to the Recovery Agency and Ukrenergo, now has a threefold reserve of electricity capacity for this season. In the shelters, we have a capacity that covers three times the capacity of our region. I have great hope that we will not have a blackout. It may be that they will attack and we will repair. But there will be no such thing as we will be left without electricity,» noted Vitalii Kim.

The head of Mykolayiv RMA reported that the objects of critical and social infrastructure of the region are equipped with 1,840 generators with three days' worth of fuel. There are 5 cogeneration units of 4.5 megawatts.

It was previously reported that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) financed the production of a new transformer for the Mykolaivvoblteploenergo utility company.

We remind that in July 2023, Mykolaiv received powerful diesel generators for the needs of the city's critical infrastructure facilities.
