Ukraine returned three more deported children from the Kherson region

Three more children, who were taken away by the Russian Federation, were returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

This was announced by the head of Kherson RMA Alexander Prokudin.

Among the returned children is an 11-year-old girl who was left without adult supervision and risked ending up in an occupation orphanage. The «Save Ukraine» organization, guardianship and guardianship authorities, and children's services worked on the child's return.

«It was an extremely difficult and urgent task,» the report said.

Together with the girl, two more boys aged 9 and 13 were able to leave. They were looked after by an adult brother who risked joining the Russian army. This time, it was possible to return the children thanks to the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, the Public Union Ukrainian Network for Children's Rights, and guardianship and care agencies and services for children in the Children's Region.

«Now all the children are safe. Doctors and psychologists work with them. I am sure that the little one will be able to recover from what he experienced. I am grateful to everyone who joins their efforts for the return of all small citizens of Ukraine,» added Alexander Prokudin.

In general, since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has managed to return 66 children from the Kherson region.

We will remind you that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution calling on European politicians to make every effort to return Ukrainian children deported to Russia, as well as to help all children who are victims of this war.

The Vice-President of the European Parliament, Robert Zile, stated that the Russification that took place during the Soviet era was not as terrible as the one carried out today by the Russian and Belarusian regimes, forcibly taking children from Ukrainian families and destroying their roots.
