Food blocks will be overhauled for ₴44.6 million in two Mykolaiv gymnasiums

The Department of Capital Construction of the Mykolaiv City Council announced tenders for the capital repair of cafeterias in gymnasiums №46 and 52 with a total cost of 44.6 million hryvnias.

This is evidenced by the data of the public procurement system ProZorro, NikVesti writes.

According to the data published on the «Dream.Proekty» platform, the repair of food blocks is necessary to improve technological processes in the preparation of dishes and increase the quality and safety of food.

«Food blocks allow you to prepare balanced meals that meet dietary standards and contribute to the healthy growth and development of children. Food blocks must meet hygiene and safety requirements. This includes proper equipment, proper storage of products, and compliance with the temperature regime of ready-made meals,» says the project passport.

The total cost of the projects, according to the data of the «Dream» platform, is 97.4 million hryvnias, of which 48.5 million hryvnias are for the food block in gymnasium №52 and 48.9 million hryvnias in gymnasium №46. However, funds are currently available for only 50% of the works.

According to the tenders published on the ProZorro website, it is planned to perform only general construction work on both food blocks, to install ventilation, electricity, water supply, sewage and fire alarm systems in the premises. Arrangement of food units with the necessary equipment for cooking and furniture is not provided for in the tenders.

Thus, according to the tender, the cost of capital repair of the cafeteria in gymnasium №52 is 22.1 million hryvnias, while it is planned to spend 22.5 million hryvnias on the food block in gymnasium №46. The tender winners have until January 31, 2025 to complete the repairs.

According to the data published on the Dream platform, a subvention from the state budget covers part of the cost of repairs in food units.

«Ukraine is reforming the school food system, and for this purpose a subvention has been provided for the modernization of food blocks in schools. This will help to improve cooking conditions and ensure the quality of food,» the project passports say.

We would like to remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the distribution of subventions for the renovation of school canteens in Mykolaiv. Four educational institutions will receive almost 80 million hryvnias for capital repairs and the purchase of equipment. Among them:

• Mykolaiv Gymnasium №52 — 19 million 554 thousand 74 hryvnias for major repairs of the cafeteria. The gymnasium, where 1,609 students study, will become a support kitchen.

• Mykolaiv Gymnasium №46 —   19 million 835 thousand 683 hryvnias. The gymnasium has 686 students, and it will receive the status of a basic kitchen.
