The average salary in Mykolaiv from the third quarter of 2024 amounted to 18,400 hryvnias, which is one of the lowest indicators among the regional centers of Ukraine.
This is evidenced by a study conducted by the job search site Work.ua.
For example, Odesa ranks 5th in terms of average salary among regional centers, with an indicator of 21,500 hryvnias. Kherson is in 14th place with a salary of 19,200 hryvnias. In terms of wages, Mykolaiv is almost no different from such cities as Zhytomyr (18,000 hryvnias) and Zaporizhzhia (18,500 hryvnias).
In general, the average salary in Ukraine for the third quarter of 2024 is 22,500 hryvnias, which is 22% more than in December last year. The highest salaries were recorded in Kyiv (25,000 hryvnias), Lviv (23,000 hryvnias), Uzhhorod (22,500 hryvnias) and Dnipro (22,000 hryvnias). Odesa is also among the top five (21,500 hryvnias). The lowest average salaries were recorded in Sumy, where they amount to 16,000 hryvnias, as well as in Kryvyi Rih (17,000 hryvnias) and Chernihiv (17,500 hryvnias).
According to Work.ua data, one of the biggest changes in salaries was recorded in such specialties as the head of the content department (+155%), orthodontist (+90%), producer (+58%) and driving school instructor (+56%). This indicates that there is a demand for professionals in specific fields on the labor market, which leads to an increase in their incomes.
However, according to the State Statistics Service, the average salary in Ukraine is 21,946 hryvnias, which is slightly lower than the figures given on Work.ua. According to the State Statistics Service, the highest salaries are recorded in the fields of «Information and telecommunications» — 50,752 hryvnias, «Financial and insurance activities» — 40,194 hryvnias, and «Professional, scientific and technical activities» — 28,167 hryvnias. In the field of education, the average salary is 13,970 hryvnias, which is one of the lowest in the country.
In addition, according to Work.ua, since the beginning of the war, the average salary in Ukraine has more than doubled, but in dollar terms, the changes are not so significant. Currently, the average salary is $532, while in 2021 it was $514.
