The French container company CMA CGM is returning to Ukraine and launching a new route that will connect the ports of Odesa, Piraeus (Greece) and Istanbul (Turkey).

This is the first direct connection with Greece since the beginning of the war, Splash 24/7 reports.

The new route will start at the end of January 2025. Two vessels will operate on the line: Lila Canada (1118 TEU) and TJ Orhan (1550 TEU), which will provide weekly sailings.

Also, in mid-January, Turkish carrier Medkon Lines plans to resume its route between Turkey and Ukraine, which was closed in early 2022.

Earlier it was reported that in seven months of 2024, Ukrainian seaports handled 59.9 million tonnes of cargo.
