In 2024, the ports of Odesa region handled more than 97 million tonnes of cargo, which is 57% more than in 2023.

According to Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Sea Port Authority, the ports of «Greater Odesa» handled 79.9 million tonnes, and the ports of the Danube 17.3 million tonnes.

«These were mostly exports of agricultural products destined for various countries around the world. We remain resilient and continue to feed the world», he said.

In addition, over the entire period of operation of the Ukrainian grain corridor, about 3.5 thousand vessels have left the ports of «Greater Odesa».

At the same time, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, said that in 2024 Ukraine reached pre-war trade figures.

«We exported almost 130 million tonnes of goods worth more than $41 billion. Such volumes were made possible thanks to the Ukrainian Sea Corridor and the work of ports, which handled more than 97 million tonnes of cargo in 2024», the Prime Minister said.

According to him, the main goal remains to reduce exports of raw materials and increase exports of processed goods.

As reported earlier, the French container company CMA CGM is returning to Ukraine and launching a new route that will connect the ports of Odesa, Piraeus (Greece) and Istanbul (Turkey).

As a reminder, Ukrainian seaports handled 59.9 million tonnes of cargo in seven months of 2024.
