Mykolayiv authorities are going to purchase 26 Turkish-made Isuzu buses with a length of 9.5 meters for 4.5 million euros. Loan funds from the European Investment Development Bank will be disbursed by the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council within 9 years.
The corresponding decision was made on Monday, May 13, during the extraordinary session of the Mykolaiv City Council, NikVesti writes.
The Mykolaiv City Council signed a loan agreement with the EIB in 2020, the funds will be disbursed within 9 years. Buses 9.5 meters long will gradually be delivered to Mykolaiv. The first 10 units are expected this year in December, and by mid-July 2025 the city will receive 16 more buses.
The new buses have a low floor and are 9.5 meters long. In addition to the buses themselves, the deal also includes essential and consumable spare parts, maintenance and repair equipment and tools, and related services.
«We buy Turkish buses 9.5 meters long. We will purchase these buses with credit funds in June 2020. It is necessary to approve the decision that the payer for this loan should be the executive committee, and not the Mykolaiv City Council, since it is not the manager of funds. No money goes anywhere, we just change the payer,» said the head of the transport department Oleh Kuksa at the meeting of the city council committee on housing and communal services issues.
The general decision was supported by all present deputies unanimously.
We will remind you that in December 2023, the mayor of Mykolaiv announced plans to purchase a new autonomous vehicle.
As you know, Ukrainian cities will receive 52 trolleybuses in 2023, of which 28 are new and 24 are used. Last year, Mykolaiv received seven new «Dnipro» T203 trolleybuses from international financial organizations.
It is noted that by the end of 2024, Mykolaiv will receive more than 30 new trolleybuses with autonomous operation Mykolaiv will receive within 12 months. They are purchased with credit funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Earlier, at Mykolaiv Electrotrans, they showed how a trolley bus was converted from a vehicle damaged by shelling. Instead of the usual restoration, the company chose modernization, making the vehicle autonomous. The updated trolleybus is capable of traveling up to 20 kilometers and is equipped with an air conditioning system.
