The headmistress of one of the schools in Odesa was suspended from work for refusing to install a memorial plaque in memory of the fallen soldier on the building of the educational institution.

The director of the education department of Odesa City Council, Olena Buinevych, reported about the incident.

According to the official, the family of the fallen serviceman during the action on August 15 informed her that their request to install a memorial plaque was refused.

After that, the director of the institution was temporarily suspended from work, reported Olena Buinevych.

«My wife accepted my apology. We work with the school. Currently, the manager has been suspended until the situation is fully clarified. All colleagues were repeatedly discussed how to act. A little later I will write publicly for the general public. This is very painful to admit. But we are living people for that, to correct our sins,» the official wrote.

In a comment to Suspilne.Odesa, the wife of the deceased Andrii Tykhomyrov, Nataliia Pryvezentseva, said that the man died during a combat mission, covering his brothers. Currently, the school building on Mykhailivska Square, where the soldier studied, already has plaques for other fallen soldiers, but it was still refused, referring to the moral condition of the children.

«I came with all his certificates, certificates that he studied, that he graduated from school, to the school director. I am asking: «Please let me install a plaque for my husband who died.» I will tell our whole story. To which the director said to me: «Don't you see, we already have signs.» I say: «I see, there will be another sign.» She told me: «Our school has 1,200 students. And if there are many black plates, this is not a cemetery. They will boost the morale of our students.» God, can you hear yourself? On the contrary, you should be proud of the fact that real men studied at your school, that they went to defend their home,» Nataliia said.

It will be recalled that the families of servicemen who died as a result of a rocket attack on the barracks in Mykolaiv are asking to hand over to Russia the life-imprisoned prosecutor Hennadii Herman in exchange for the captured marines.
