The director of an educational complex in the Kherson region is suspected of embezzling budget funds

In the Kherson region, law enforcement officials reported the suspicion to the director of the educational complex. The female figure in the case is accused of embezzling more than half a million hryvnias of budget funds. She faces up to eight years in prison.

According to the communications department of the police of the Kherson region, the 67-year-old manager awarded 23 employees of the educational institution in July 2022. The size of the premiums ranged from one thousand hryvnias to 60 thousand hryvnias, which led to the embezzlement of more than 516 thousand hryvnias from the local budget.

The investigators classified the defendant's illegal actions under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely: embezzlement of someone else's property by an official abusing his official position, committed under martial law.

In addition, the director is a district deputy, so the representatives of the regional prosecutor's office informed her about the suspicion of committing a crime.

The agency noted that the investigation is currently ongoing. Sanctions of the article provide for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty from five to eight years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
