A resident of the village of Chornobaivka, Kherson region, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for collaborating with the Russian Federation during the occupation of the region.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation proved that during the occupation of the Kherson region, the convict worked as the «director of the municipal enterprise of the Chornobaivka territorial community of the Military-civilian administration.»

«He carried out tasks assigned by the occupation administration, in particular, he was responsible for the resettlement of Russian military personnel. He also ensured the implementation of land works between Stepanivka and Chornobaivka to prevent the movement of civilians beyond the occupiers' checkpoints,» the report says.

It is noted that the man helped the Russians navigate the terrain. He provided information about infrastructure and available food facilities, and also organized the basing of Russian military equipment and its repair on the territory of municipal facilities.

In addition, the convict publicly supported the Russian Federation's armed aggression against Ukraine, calling on residents of the region to participate in an illegal referendum and vote in favor of Russia.

The Kherson Regional and District Prosecutor's Office found a resident of the village of Chornobaiivka guilty of aiding the Russian Federation, as provided for in Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As a reminder, a resident of the village of Sofiivka, Kherson region, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for organizing and holding an illegal referendum.
