Tonight, December 19, a private house caught fire in the village of Volodymyrivka, Voznesensk district.

As reported by the State Emergency Service of the Mykolaiv region, a neighbor called the rescuers.

According to rescuers, at the time of the fire, dense smoke was formed in the house. There were six children and their mother in the house. The woman, having discovered the fire, immediately rushed to take the children out into the yard. She first gave her two sons and four daughters, aged 4 to 15, to neighbors, then to their grandparents, who live in a neighboring village. According to the relative, the children were not injured in the fire.

The mother herself, while rescuing them, inhaled smoke and suffered burns. The victim, initially in moderate condition, was hospitalized to a local hospital.

Firefighters extinguished the 100-square-meter fire at almost 5 a.m. The probable cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical network.

Earlier, the State Emergency Service emphasized that eight residents died in household fires in Mykolaiv and the region over the past week, and five were saved, four of whom were children.
