At night, the state registers of Ukraine were subjected to a cyberattack. It was called the most massive in recent times. Currently, the registers under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine have been temporarily suspended.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration - Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna.
She said the attack was carried out by the Russians to disrupt critical infrastructure. Previously, only state registries were affected by the attack, and there were no threats to other resources.
According to Olha Stefanishyna, it will take up to two weeks for the first-priority restoration. The following are planned to be restored first:
- State Register of Civil Status Acts of Citizens;
- Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs;
- State register of rights to real estate and their encumbrances.
«After full recovery, a thorough analysis of the attack will be conducted together with relevant authorities to strengthen protection against similar interventions in the future», she added.
Recall that on November 6, 2024, hackers attacked the website of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.
The site was only restored on November 18. The entire database stored on the site was saved almost without loss.
