Russians forces struck the DTEK thermal power plants: equipment was damaged

During the massive attack on the morning of December 25, the Russian armed forces shelled the thermal power plants of DTEK.

This was reported by the energy company's press service.

«As a result of the massive attack, the equipment of the TPPs was seriously damaged. After the shelling, the power engineers promptly began to eliminate its consequences and restore the equipment», the company's representatives announced.

They reminded that this year it is already the thirteenth mass attack on the Ukrainian energy sector and the tenth mass attack on the company's power plants. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK's thermal power plants have been shelled more than 200 times.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko confirmed that the Russians are systematically attacking the energy sector. Once the security situation allows, power engineers will specify the extent of the damage. Currently, Ukrenergo has introduced emergency power outages.
