In 2024, the number of destroyed and damaged facilities in the Kherson region increased by 23.4% due to constant shelling by Russian troops.
This is stated in the Programme of Socio-Economic and Cultural Development of the Kherson Region for 2025, according to NikVesti.
At the end of the year, the total number of such facilities reached 30,445.
This destruction caused a huge amount of waste. In order to keep the waste from being destroyed, 67 special sites have already been set up in 17 de-occupied communities, with a total area of more than 114 hectares. These sites have collected almost 180,000 tonnes of construction waste so far.
The plan is to recycle this waste to use it to rebuild the damaged infrastructure.
We remind you that since the beginning of 2025, Russian troops have attacked the Kherson region with drones about 650 times.
At the end of December 2024, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, said that the region was ready to accept Kherson residents in case of evacuation and provide them with all the necessary assistance.
