Emergency repair work on the temporary bridge in the village of Peresadivka in the Mykolaiv region was completed at the end of September. A total of ₴640,000 was spent on the repairs, including the approach to the bridge. Of this, ₴380,000 was allocated by the Voskresenske community.
This is stated in a response from the Infrastructure Department of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration to an information request from NikVesti.
Lorry traffic had been flooding the bridge in Peresadivka
The bridge between the villages of Peresadivka and Mykhailo-Laryne in the Mykolaiv region was repeatedly flooded by lorries. Drivers crossed the bridge despite a sign restricting lorry traffic. In particular, in November 2013, a «KAMAZ» lorry with trailers became stuck on the bridge, and the structure was flooded.
Similar incidents occurred in May 2015 and March 2017.
In 2017, it took three months to pump the water out of the pontoons. And in June, restoration work began on the bridge. However, in September, a truck flooded the repaired bridge.
The situation has not changed since then: trucks flooded the bridge in June and November 2018, as well as in December 2019.
Construction of the bridge was interrupted by the war
As reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration in response to an enquiry from NikVesti, a grant was allocated from the state budget in 2019–2020. Using these funds, the Infrastructure Department commissioned the preparation of design and cost estimate documentation for the construction of a bridge across the Inhul River. The bridge is part of the O151118 local public road (Oleksandrivka — Mykolaiv) — Peresadivka — (Dnipro — Mykolaiv).
A contract worth 1.18 million hryvnias was signed with Alfa Foramen LLC.
In April 2021, the newly established State Enterprise «Mykolaiv Region Local Roads Agency» signed a contract with the «Planeta West» corporation for the construction of the bridge, worth 25.07 million hryvnias.
However, the work was not completed due to the outbreak of the war.
«The full-scale military invasion by the Russian Federation and the hostilities made it impossible to complete the work in full. As of 24 February 2022, the contractor had carried out work worth 9.74 million hryvnias, representing 38.9 per cent of the total scope of work,» the Infrastructure Department reported.
In 2022, the unfinished construction, along with the pontoon bridge, was destroyed.
«No funds were allocated from the budget to complete the works as stipulated in the contract,» the response to the enquiry stated.
«Temporary» bridge
The Infrastructure Department reported that between January and March 2023, the State Special Transport Service built a temporary 37-metre bridge across the Inhul. The wooden decking on the temporary bridge lasted for almost 3.5 years.
According to the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, the temporary bridge was inspected in 2026. It transpired that the plank decking of the upper layer was in poor condition. It was also necessary to replace 50 per cent of the total area of the structural elements in the lower layer. Emergency repair work was completed on 28 September.
The total cost of the repairs amounted to 640,000 гривень. Most of this was spent on restoring the plank decking. Funds for this were allocated, in particular, by the Voskresenska community.
«540,000 hryvnias were spent on work to restore the plank decking on the temporary bridge, which is situated on the local public road 0151118 (Oleksandrivka — Mykolaiv) — Peresadivka — (Dnipro — Mykolaiv), 540,000 hryvnias were spent, including 380,000 hryvnias from the Voskresenska settlement territorial community and 160,000 hryvnias from the regional budget,» the Infrastructure Department reported.
The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration also stated that 100,000 гривень had been allocated from the regional budget for emergency pothole repairs on the section of the H-11 Dnipro — Mykolaiv road (via Kryvyi Rih) to Peresadivka.
Local residents told NikVesti that the bridge is vital for connecting the villages.
«This bridge is vital for the village’s residents, because if it’s not there, they won’t be able to get their groceries delivered, and people won’t be able to get to work. What’s more, ambulances use it,» said Maryna, a resident of Peresadivka.
As a reminder, residents highlighted the condition of the road from Odesa to Pervomaisk via the village of Kumari in the Mykolaiv region. It is completely riddled with potholes. Local residents noted that there has not been a proper repair for a long time. Yet this is the road used to transport residents to hospital.
Residents of the village of Shchaslyve in the Berezanka community of the Mykolaiv region have also appealed once again to the local authorities to repair the road on Shkilna Street. Following repairs to the water mains, the ground there has subsided, and the road is washed away during heavy rain.
