Death toll in Poltava rises to 10 as rescue efforts continue

Emergency rescue operations are underway in Poltava after a Russian missile hit a residential building, killing 10 people.
This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.
As you know, on Saturday, 1 February 2025, at around 8:30 am, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Poltava, hitting a five-storey residential building. The attack destroyed the entrance from the first to the fifth floor, started a fire, and damaged neighbouring houses and 12 cars.
According to preliminary data, the attack was carried out by an X-22 missile.
Another 17 people were injured, including four children. Twenty-two people were rescued. Specialists of the State Emergency Service and the National Police provided psychological assistance to 194 victims, including 11 children.
Rescuers continue to work at the site to clear the rubble and eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
The Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into a war crime that resulted in the deaths. The investigation is being conducted by investigators from the SSU Office in Poltava region.
