Mykolaiv is developing a new algorithm for responding to bomb threats, including for schools, kindergartens and other important facilities.
First Deputy Mayor of Mykolaiv Vitalii Lukov told NikVesti.
Due to reports of bomb threats to schools and kindergartens, the city council is considering improving its response procedures. The new protocol will include a clear sequence of actions and an algorithm for de-mining the facilities.
The vice-mayor explained that the police cannot abandon their standard regulations, and school or kindergarten managers must also follow the old protocols developed in peacetime.
«On Wednesday, 5 February, we held a meeting of the TBNC commission, at which we developed a procedure that regulates how to act on bomb threats and defines the procedure for clearing facilities. It is now being finalised and will be sent out after approval,» said Lukov.
However, he stressed that the new algorithm will not be perfect, as the main responsibility for decision-making in the event of a threat will lie with the heads of educational institutions.
«It is important to understand that the existing documents regulating actions in emergency situations were developed before the full-scale invasion, and therefore they need to be updated,» he said.
Earlier it was reported that in Mykolaiv, due to daily reports of bomb threats to schools and kindergartens, the authorities are considering switching educational institutions to distance learning.
