A STEM laboratory has been opened in Mykolaiv at the Khvylia youth centre.

This was announced by Arsen Hasparian, head of the youth policy department of the Mykolaiv City Council, in a comment to NikVesti.

According to him, young people can use the library, 3D printer, laser, heat press, VR glasses and Sony PS game console free of charge, as well as participate in master classes and educational events.

«It was opened by the Mykolaiv City Council together with UNICEF on the basis of the city's educational space «Khvylia». A modern STEM laboratory has been created here. The premises have a modern library with about 250 books, a Sony PS console, VR glasses, a heat press, a laser, a 3D printer and a plotter. All equipment and renovation work was carried out with funding from UNICEF through the non-governmental organisation GoGlobal. We also have a facilitator who organises events for young people. You can sign up for an event, follow our social media, come and learn 3D modelling,» said Arsen Hasparian.

He added that the space is always lit, so visitors can recharge their gadgets.

«Events are held once or twice a week, so keep an eye on our schedule. In general, the space is open to everyone during the youth space's working hours: you can come and read a book, play on the console, and special events are held once or twice a week. Everything is completely free. And when there is no light, we have light. You can come and recharge your gadgets,» said Arsen Hasparian.

Arsen Hasparian added that in 2025, the Khvylia youth space was visited by about 10,000 young people.

As a reminder, temporary modular educational spaces have been opened in the Pervomaisk and Shevchenkove communities of the Mykolaiv region. This will allow more than 500 children to return to face-to-face learning. The initiative was implemented by the savED charitable foundation in partnership with IREX and with the support of US taxpayers.
