In 2025, 857 air raid alerts were recorded in the Mykolaiv region, which is 363 fewer than the previous year. At the same time, the longest alert lasted 9 hours and 51 minutes.

This was reported by Olena Horbachova, head of the civil protection department of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, during a briefing on 25 February, according to NikVesti.

According to her, the total duration of air raid alerts was 1,120 hours and 36 minutes, which is 266 hours less than a year earlier. The average duration of a single alert increased to 1 hour and 18 minutes, which is 10 minutes more than in 2024.

The longest air raid alert in the region lasted 9 hours and 51 minutes and was recorded in January 2025. Another long alert sounded in July and lasted 9 hours and 26 minutes. In terms of duration, they are almost identical to the figures for 2024, when the longest alarms lasted 9 hours 54 minutes and 9 hours 49 minutes. The longest period without air raid alarms in 2025 lasted 97 hours 15 minutes, from 7 to 11 May. This is slightly longer than the corresponding figure for 2024.

«In general, the administration provides technical maintenance of this equipment and replacement of sirens, as they break down due to intensive operation over four years. Therefore, the equipment constantly needs to be updated and serviced, which is carried out by the administration. At the same time, in 2025, there were no cases of unauthorised siren activation,» added Olena Horbachova.

As a reminder, in 2025, 394 billion hryvnias were allocated for the development of education in Ukraine, part of which was used for the security and modernisation of educational institutions in frontline regions, including Mykolaiv region.
