This is according to data from the Prozorro public procurement system, as reported by NikVesti.
According to the project and cost estimate documentation, the work is due to be completed by 20 December 2026.
The works will cover the façade, the first and second floors, courtrooms, escort facilities and service utilities.
In particular, the façade will involve the restoration of damaged plaster and insulation, cleaning, priming and painting of the walls, as well as the replacement of the entrance doors and emergency exit doors.
In the foyer and corridors on the first floor, the walls, ceilings and floors will be refurbished, and the doors and some of the windows will be replaced. There are also plans to install a metal detector gate, a turnstile and a metal barrier for access control.
Separate works are planned for the visitors’ area, the guard room and the cells. There, the walls and ceilings will be repaired, and the metal doors and bars will be painted. In the toilets, the sanitary fittings will be replaced and the walls and floors will be tiled. In the four courtrooms, the suspended ceiling panels will be replaced and the wall finishes will be refurbished.
The project also includes refurbishment of the stairwell, involving the replacement of tiles on the stairs and landings and the installation of new doors. On the second floor, office No. 16 will be refurbished and damaged window units will be replaced.
In addition, on the ground floor, there are plans to completely replace the electrical wiring and interior lighting, and to install new distribution boards, cable networks and LED light fittings.
It should be noted that in October 2025, the Territorial Directorate of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region had already announced a tender for the major refurbishment of the building. At that time, over 5.6 million hryvnias were spent on the works. The tender was won by the company «Zhytloproombud-8», which is one of the largest construction firms in Mykolaiv.
A fire broke out at the court on 5 January 2025. The following day, the police arrested a suspect in the arson; he turned out to be an 18-year-old man. According to the investigation, this was an operation carried out by the Russian special services. He was charged under Part 2 of Article 194, «Intentional destruction or damage to property», which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment. In March, the case was referred to the Vitovskyi District Court.
The Main Directorate of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region told NikVesti that the suspect had admitted his guilt and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
It should be recalled that in January 2025, law enforcement officers charged four teenagers with arson attacks on railway facilities.
