Hennadii Iziumov, head of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivvodokanal», stated that the company had nothing to do with the flooding of the football pitch at the stadium of Sports School №5 in the Korabelnyi district.

He made this statement during a briefing on 28 May, according to NikVesti.

It should be noted that the situation was recently discussed at a meeting of the Mykolaiv Regional Council’s deputy commission. Deputies suggested that the flooding might be linked to water discharges into the Vitovka River and expected a technical solution to the problem from the water utility.

In response, Hennadii Iziumov stated that the water utility is not involved in the issue, but the municipal enterprise can assist in cases of emergency water pumping.

«This does not concern the water utility. We provide assistance in the event of emergency pumping. If there is a need, we will come and do it. But any conclusions and work to restore the river and install storm drains — that is not our remit,» said Hennadii Iziumov.

As is well known, the football pitch at the stadium of Sports School №5 in the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv has been flooded for two months now. Because of this, the children are forced to train on a reserve pitch, and the main pitch has effectively been taken out of service.
