«ELU Avtodorig» plans to purchase ₴15 million worth of asphalt for street repairs in Mykolaiv

Road repairs in Mykolaiv. Photo: ELU AvtodorigIn Mykolaiv, the municipal enterprise «ELU Avtodorig» plans to purchase 2,000 tonnes of asphalt concrete mix for the repair of city roads.
This is according to data from the Prozorro public procurement system.

This involves the purchase of 500 tonnes of Type A asphalt concrete mix and 1,500 tonnes of Type B mix. The materials will be used for patching, and for laying the top and levelling layers of the road surface. The asphalt concrete must be delivered by 25 December 2026.
Two companies took part in the tender. BILD ROAD LLC offered to carry out the supply for 15.1 million hryvnias, and ASFA LTD LLC for 14.8 million hryvnias. Currently, the municipal enterprise «ELU Avtodorig» is considering the possibility of concluding a contract with the bidder who offered the lower price.
As stated in a response to a query from NikVesti, the company is responsible for ongoing minor road repairs and the repair of potholes. Major and medium-scale repairs fall within the remit of the Department of Housing and Communal Services and the district administrations.
The municipal enterprise explained that, due to the specific nature of the work, they do not draw up an annual repair plan, as damage to the road surface occurs throughout the year. Instead, plans are drawn up monthly, taking into account requests from residents, orders from the police, the State Emergency Service and district administrations.
«Every spring and autumn, the company, together with representatives of the Patrol Police Department in the Mykolaiv region, conducts a joint inspection of the streets and roads of Mykolaiv to incorporate the findings into their work. The planning of repair and maintenance work on streets and roads depends primarily on weather conditions and takes into account requests (call centre 1588), orders from the patrol police and the State Emergency Service, letters from district administrations and other factors,» the company stated.
In June, the company plans to carry out patching work on more than 20 streets in the city. In particular, work is scheduled on the following streets:

At the same time, the company noted that the list of streets may change depending on funding and the current situation on the city’s roads.
As a reminder, on 21 May in Mykolaiv, several streets in various parts of the city were flooded following heavy rain. The worst flooding was recorded near the «Dormashyna» bus stop and by the ATB supermarket.
Vitalii Shevchenko, director of «ELU Avtodorig», commented that the cause of the flooding near the «Dormashyna» bus stop in Mykolaiv was not a problem with the drainage system, but the large amount of rainfall that fell at once. To avoid such situations in future, a project needs to be developed and the drainage system in this area rebuilt.
Vitalii Shevchenko, Director of the municipal enterprise «ELU Avtodorig», also noted that drivers should take the situation into account during heavy rain and avoid parking their cars in the «Dormashyna» area of Mykolaiv. Today, one driver drove there despite the road closure and got stuck.
