Zelenskyy about his candidacy in the next election: «I don't really know»

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that he does not yet know whether he will run in the next election. According to him, everything will depend on the development of the situation in the country and the end of the war.

He said this in an interview with The Guardian.

«I don't know. I really don't know. I don't know how this war will end. This is a rhetorical question for me», he said.

The President noted that the issue of elections is complicated because many settlements are occupied and eight million Ukrainians are abroad.

«We must hear people. Ukrainians choose, so other countries cannot tell us when to hold elections», the Head of State stressed.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that if martial law was terminated or suspended during the elections, the country would face the threat of losing the army in its current form.
