Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to meet with Vladimir Putin in person as part of peace talks to resolve two key issues — regarding territories and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

He announced this in an interview with the publication European Truth.

According to the minister, two of the most sensitive issues remain unresolved in the peace process: the status of the temporarily occupied territories and future control over the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

«It is precisely to resolve these issues that the president is ready to meet with Putin and discuss them directly,» Andrii Sybiha said.

At the same time, he stressed that he sees no need for his own meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

«We must not create parallel negotiation tracks. There are established negotiation teams, which include representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Creating additional formats is not appropriate at this time,» he explained.

Andrii Sybiha also said that the negotiating teams had already held substantive discussions on the parameters of a ceasefire, as well as mechanisms for monitoring and verifying a possible truce.

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is preparing for new trilateral meetings with the participation of American and Russian delegations this week.
