The US Department of Defense announced the indefinite postponement of the Noble Partner military exercises with Georgia due to the need to conduct a comprehensive review of the countries' bilateral relations.

This is stated in the message of the Pentagon.

The Noble Partner exercise was conducted jointly by the Georgian Defense Forces and the US Army in Europe, with the participation of troops from third countries. This year, the training was scheduled from July 25 to August 6.

However, on May 30, the US government began a complete review of all bilateral cooperation with Georgia.

«The decision to postpone the training is related to the Georgian government's false accusations against the United States and other Western entities about the pressure on Georgia to open a second front against Russia and ease the pressure on Ukraine, as well as about the participation (the United States, — note) in in two attempts at a coup d'état against the party in power (Georgia, — note),» the Pentagon explained.

The US has assured that it will continue to cooperate with the Georgian defense forces as it seeks to continue strengthening Georgia's ability to defend its sovereignty and maintain its territorial integrity.

“We have not come to this decision lightly, we place great emphasis on the great value that our allies and partners bring to training, such as Noble Partner. The United States looks forward to future opportunities for cooperation with Alliance members and partners,» the US Department of Defense said.

It will be recalled that the law «Law on Foreign Agents» («On the Transparency of Foreign Influence») comes into force in Georgia. The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, signed the document.
