Zelenskyy went to Pokrovsk and introduced the new commander of the combined forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On Wednesday, June 26, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, went to Donetsk region and introduced the new commander of the Joint Forces, Andrii Hnatov.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in a video message.

«This day began in Donetsk region, together with our soldiers, together with Chief of Staff Syrskyi and the new commander of the United Forces, General Hnatov. Today, I officially introduced Andrii Hnatov to everyone who is responsible for the defense in Donetsk region. He is a young man, but his knowledge of the front and his experience are exactly what is needed. The task for General Hnatov is obvious — to destroy the occupier and — it is very important — to protect the lives of our soldiers as much as possible,» the president noted.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on security and support for people in Donetsk region. According to him, he was surprised that some prominent government officials were not in Donetsk region for half a year or more.

«There will be a serious conversation, and I will draw appropriate conclusions about them,» the president added.

We will remind that President Zelenskyy decided to replace the commander of the United Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yurii Sodol, with Brigadier General Andrii Hnatov on June 24.
