On October 3, in one of the Mykolaiv lyceums, the «Kalynova Alley of Memory» was opened in honor of the hero graduates who died during the full-scale war.
The event took place within the framework of the action of the Memorial Platform for the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the correspondent of "Nykvesta" reports.
Pupils and educators of 112 educational institutions of the country participated in commemorating the fallen Heroes.
However, as the director of the Mykolaiv Lyceum, Olena Karpenko, said, their memorial alley is different from the general action.
— This is our general lyceum project. It was conceived as an avenue of graduates, and we started planting it even before the start of the war. Then, when we learned that our graduates had died, we decided to focus on this. And we decided to dedicate this «Kalynova Alley of Memory» to our hero graduates, - she said.
Students and teachers of the lyceum conducted research, developed name banners and created a small school mural. Each banner has an individual QR code that leads to a web page where you can read the story of the code Hero honored on the «Viburnum Alley of Memory».
— To date, we know of five dead graduates. We already have 10 viburnums growing in our alley. Recently, students and teachers found that there is an action «Kalynova Alley» on the memorial platform dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, we decided to join it so that our boys are known all over Ukraine, - said the director of the lyceum.
The families of the fallen Heroes were invited to the opening, and they were presented with certificates honoring the defenders on the «Kalynova Alley of Memory».
In addition, individual badges of the «I'm a volunteer» lyceum were presented to the students who were engaged in search work and helped create the alley.
We will remind, on the Day of defenders , Mykolaiv residents and military personnel who participated in the defense of the city at the beginning of the full-scale war were awarded. For their courage, loyalty and indomitable will, more than 70 people received the award «For the defense of Mykolaiv».
It should be noted that on September 15, the presentation of the medal «For the defense of Mykolaiv» took place. 7 Mykolaiv artists, sculptors and heraldists took part in the development of the award sketch. Among all proposals, a sketch by the sculptor Yaroslav Ryasnyanskyi was chosen.
