JSC «Ukrzaliznytsia» begins restoration works of the destroyed railway bridge over the Southern Bug River in the Voznesensk community.
Antonina Sharat, deputy head of the Voznesensk DMA, told about this during the briefing, NikVesti writes.
The bridge is located near the village of Prybuzhany. It was destroyed during the fighting in the first days of the full-scale invasion. According to Antonina Sharata, donor funds were involved for the works.
«There are no budget funds there, as far as we know. Works are performed with donor funds. We received information about the works on January 8-9, that is, they started preparatory work from the beginning of January. They also need a location and to install equipment. We, as a military administration, were informed about this. The bridge connects the Odesa-Znamianka section,» Antonina Sharata said.
In March 2023, the administration said that a georesearch was being conducted on the territory in order to develop project and estimate documentation in the near future.
We will remind that there are only two railway bridges in the community, one of which was rebuilt with state funds in the summer of 2023.
Battles for Voznesensk
The city of Voznesensk in the Mykolaiv region was a strategic point that the Russian military planned to capture from the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
On March 2, about one and a half hundred units of Russian armored vehicles appeared on the outskirts of the city. The battle lasted about a week. 80 separate amphibious assault brigades, territorial defense forces of the Mykolayiv region, police officers and volunteer formations took part in the defense.
During the fighting in the Voznesensk district, three bridges were blown up: a road bridge and two railway bridges. In April 2023, the Service for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure in Mykolaiv Oblast (former Highway Service) announced tenders for works on the construction of a bridge on the N-24 highway. The expected cost of the works, which are planned to be completed by the end of August 2024, is 449 million hryvnias.
