The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi commented on the plans to mobilize 500,000 people into the ranks of the Ukrainian army.

He stated this on the air of the «Edyni Novyni» telethon.

«The military command did not make any request for any numbers there. The military command continues to perform the function of protecting the state and accordingly shapes its requests for ammunition, weapons and human resources. This is done on an ongoing basis. We do not do this in a separate format, by calling on the Cabinet of Ministers or the Verkhovna Rada. We exercise our powers in accordance with the functionality we are endowed with,» said Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
