The General Staff and Central Committee offered to mobilize another 500,000 people, — Zelenskyy during a press conference

The General Staff and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi proposed to additionally mobilize up to 400-500 thousand people for military operations.

The corresponding statement was made by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his press conference on Tuesday, December 19.

Answering journalists' questions, the president called the issue of mobilization «very sensitive». During the next strike, the General Staff and Central Committee offered him to mobilize an additional number of people.

In response to this proposal, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that this is a rather serious figure that needs to be argued.

«I said that I need more arguments in order to support this direction, because it is a matter of people first of all. This is a question of justice, defense capability and finance,» he said.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the issues of rotation and vacations, which should be taken into account in the mobilization law. In the plan that they started working on, the president «did not see demobilization».

As you know, in August, at a special meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, it was decided to dismiss all heads of regional military committees.

Recently, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, stated that it is still too early to evaluate the new recruitment project for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and in matters of mobilization, the existing framework must be returned.

We will remind, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion , about 33 thousand residents of the Mykolayiv region mobilized to the Armed Forces. Vitalii Kim, the head of RMA, added that the mobilization process in the region will continue in the future.

In response to this, Oksana Kaliuzhna, a deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, reacted negatively to the statement of the regional leadership, comparing the process of issuing summons to catching dogs.
