The production of agricultural products in the Mykolaiv region increased by 24% in 2023

In 2023, the production of agricultural products in the Mykolayiv region, in comparison with 2022, increased by 24%.

Olena Piskun, the director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Mykolaiv RMA, told about this at the briefing.

«Our agrarians are gaining momentum and the production of agricultural products is returning to pre-war indicators,» she said.

According to Olena Piskun, it was possible to achieve such indicators at the expense of crop production.

«We received almost 2.4 million tons of grain that year, which is 25,000 tons more than the previous year. We received 1.5 million tons of wheat, we received almost 900 thousand tons of sunflower, which is almost 270 thousand tons more than in 2022,» said the director of the department.

According to her, the increase in production was influenced by the de-occupation and demining of agricultural lands. As more than 100 enterprises returned to agricultural activity last year.

«If in 2022, 2.5 thousand enterprises carried out such activities, then in 2023, 2,667 reported on the implementation of agricultural business activities,» said Olena Piskun.

We will remind, as of October 18, 2023, more than 225,000 hectares of agricultural land designated for priority return to economic exploitation were surveyed in Mykolaiv Oblast.
