Ukrainian defenders have a plan to return the Russian-occupied Crimea and destroy the illegal Kerch Bridge, but the implementation of this plan is proving to be more difficult than expected.

This was stated by the representative of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Yusov in an interview with Kyiv24.

According to him, Russian troops are currently using the temporarily occupied peninsula as an important military base and a strategic area for logistics.

«I would like to look at the clock and say that the bridge still has 15 minutes left to stand — but the reality is more complicated,» said the representative of the MDI.

Andrii Yusov said that there is a plan to de-occupy Crimea, but the details will not be disclosed yet.

«Undoubtedly, the Security and Defense Forces have plans for the de-occupation of Ukrainian lands and the peninsula, as well as the destruction of all things that prevent this. We will not make announcements. As it was not done in the past, when appropriate damage was inflicted and was effective,» he said.

We will remind that on July 17, 2023, an attack by the Ukrainian drone Sea Baby took place. CNN has published exclusive footage of the use of the Sea Baby experimental sea drone to attack the Kerch Bridge.

The MDI noted that the strikes on the Kerch bridge once again worsened the situation for the group of enemy troops in the south of Ukraine and caused a «hysterical» reaction of the military and political leadership of the Russian Federation.

After that, the occupiers increased the security of the bridge across the Kerch Strait. Traffic across the bridge is also slowed due to damage.

According to intelligence, the Kremlin demanded anything to secure the facility, which is critically important for the military logistics of the Russian army of occupation.
