In the Kherson region, the repair of the duiker of the Inhulets irrigation system, destroyed by the Russians, has been completed.

This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Oleksandr Prokudin on September 6.

According to him, more than 50 kilometers of canals will irrigate three thousand hectares of fields this year, and twice as much next year.

The head of RMA also announced the launch of the first Ukrainian-made sprinkler in the region, which will irrigate 70 hectares of fields. During September, the number of such installations will be increased to five in order to cover more than half a thousand hectares of land with irrigation.

«I am sure that thanks to the restoration of irrigation, next year there will be much more Kherson watermelons, tomatoes and other vegetables, which our region has always been famous for,» Oleksandr Prokudin stressed.

He noted that the project was implemented with the support of UNITED24, AVT Bavaria Ukraine LLC and servicemen of the 18th separate bridge battalion of the 1st separate brigade named after Prince Lev of the State Special Service of Transport.

We will remind that last year in Mykolaiv Oblast, as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP, 350,000 hectares of irrigated land were left without a source of water.

As you know, during the temporary occupation of the Mykolaiv region, Russian troops hid in irrigation systems and used their slabs for shelter.
