The Danish Refugee Council has furnished the premises of a dormitory for internally displaced persons in Mykolaiv with furniture and equipment.

As the Mykolaiv Development Agency reports, the final delivery of furniture was recently carried out.

It is noted that the organization previously handed over 428 pieces of household appliances and furniture, including desks, shelves, kitchen cabinets, bookcases, beds, armchairs, irons, hoods, kettles, microwaves, clothes dryers and televisions.

«This aid is an important part of the program to support people who were forced to leave their homes due to hostilities and need safe and comfortable housing,» the press service added.

We will remind you that in Mykolaiv, the renovation of a dormitory for forced migrants has been completed. About 200 people who lost their homes due to the great war will be able to accommodate there. This is not the only hostel in Mykolaiv intended for internally displaced persons. Ten rooms have already been renovated in one of them, and the other building is in the queue for renovation. Note that more than 47,500 IDPs are currently registered in Mykolaiv.

As the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkovych said, some of them rent housing, some live with relatives. But there are people who need support from the city.

Taking into account the significant number of displaced people in the city, it is obvious that there are not enough resources to provide housing for all of them. However, thanks to international organizations, this problem is gradually beginning to be solved.

We will remind you that in the village of Shevchenkove, Mykolaiv Oblast , a place for temporary residence of IDPs is being built in the premises of the hospital, which was damaged as a result of a Russian airstrike.
