Vitaly Kim, the head of Mykolaiv RMA, said that the region is better prepared for the winter period than in previous seasons. But despite this, the operation of the power system will depend on the number of shellings and their consequences.

He said this on the air of the telethon.

«From 2022, it is a little easier, despite the increase in shelling. But we depend on the number of Russian missiles, but if there are, as always, the situation will remain stable. In my opinion, we are now better prepared and will pass this season more calmly than the previous ones,» said Vitalii Kim.

The head of the region emphasized that all options, including possible blackouts, have been worked out. Social infrastructure, in particular hospitals, are equipped with diesel generators and have fuel reserves. 1,500 ready-to-use diesel generators have been installed and connected in Mykolaiv Oblast. In addition, solar panels are installed in hospitals and schools to save resources.

«All institutions have generators that run on fuel, but it is expensive. That is why we install solar panels and batteries in order to conditionally receive electricity for free,» Kim added.

We will remind that at the beginning of September, the situation with electricity supply in the Mykolaiv region stabilized, queues for power outages decreased.

Earlier, the health care department of the Mykolaiv Oblast was told that solar panels will be installed in three more medical institutions of the region for autonomous operation in conditions of possible power outages.
