The head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim commented on the information about the possible offensive of Russian troops on the right bank of the Dnieper, assuring that the Ukrainian military was ready for such a development a few months ago.

He said this in his video message on the Telegram channel.

According to him, the authorities were aware of plans for an alleged assault on the right bank of the Dnieper 4 months ago.

«Officials have already begun to say that the Russians are preparing an assault on the right bank of the Dnieper. We knew about it four months ago. All the necessary preparatory measures have been carried out, and our military knows perfectly well how to act. No one is planning to retreat — on the contrary, we are ready for this scenario,» said Vitalii Kim.

The head of Mykolaiv RMA emphasized that the defense forces have a clear plan of action and enough resources to counter the enemy.

«We understand the forces and means that the enemy will use, and we will react accordingly. We have enough of everything, everything is complicated, but controlled,» he noted.

We will remind that the publication «RBK-Ukraine» reported that the Russian military may soon carry out another operation — with the aim of attacking Kherson, forcing the Dnieper, since all the bridges in the direction of this city have been destroyed or damaged.

Two sources of the publication claim that the occupiers are bringing equipment for guiding pontoon crossings to the areas located on the left bank of the Dnieper and are preparing troops.

Already on December 4, the head of the Kherson regional military administration Oleksandr Prokudin confirmed that the Russian troops are probably planning an attack on Kherson and have gathered 300 boats to force the Dnieper. In addition, the occupiers are actively using drones, having carried out more than 9,500 attacks since July.

Serhii Bratchuk, the spokesman of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army «South», said that Russian troops are trying to seize the river islands and approach the western shore of Kherson. Recently, they conducted a large-scale attack on Cossack Island to the northeast of the city, near Nova Kakhovka.

It was also reported that the number of Russian military units has increased on the territory of the occupied Kinburn spit in order to maintain the defense and prevent Ukrainian troops from forcing the Dnieper.
