In Mykolaiv region, 64% of students are currently studying full-time or in a mixed format.
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, expects to increase this figure to 80%, he said during a press conference on 30 December, NikVesti.
However, Vitalii Kim added, this decision will depend solely on the parents of the students.
«64% of our students are now studying full-time and mixed. This is almost twice as many as in 2023. Therefore, this result is satisfactory and the task is to bring it up to 80%. But it all depends on the children and their parents. They decide whether their children should study full-time or blended learning. Therefore, our task is to create the conditions for this to work,» said Vitalii Kim.
He also said that in 2023 and 2024, 18,500 children returned from abroad to Mykolaiv region.
«This is 66% of those who left. This is an important indicator. It means that people want, believe and return to continue living and studying in Ukraine,» added the head of the RMA.
Where is full-time education available in Mykolaiv Oblast?
It is worth reminding that more than 300 schools in Mykolaiv Oblast wanted to start full-time or mixed form of education. However, after specialised inspections, their number was halved.
In Mykolaiv region, 57 schools were allowed to work offline. Most of them are schools in Voznesenskyi and Pervomaiskyi districts. In addition, 94 schools operate in a mixed mode, meaning that children study offline in a certain order, for example, week after week. Another 277 educational institutions operate online.
The offline learning process has also been organised in the frontline town of Ochakiv, where a mixed form of education is in place.
According to the monitoring of the Mykolaiv City Council's Education Department, 65% of schoolchildren want to study full-time.
