The Mykolaiv Regional State Administration hopes that the use of artificial intelligence will help to partially overcome the «labour shortage». To this end, nearly 800 employees of regional and district administrations have already undergone specialised training.

This was announced during a briefing by Dmytro Havryliak, head of the Department of Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation, according to a NikVesti correspondent.

According to the official, the administration regularly works to improve the digital competence of both its employees and specialists in the communities.

«In 2025, we tried to invest in our people, both those who work directly for us in the administration and those who work locally in communities... It is no secret that the issue of artificial intelligence is quite interesting for the Mykolaiv region. There are many reasons for this, including a certain «labour shortage», which we can partially solve with AI. On the other hand, it is also for speeding up processes,» explained Dmytro Havryliak.

He specified that about 800 people have already undergone training in the use of artificial intelligence, cyber hygiene and network operation. The classes were held in the cybersecurity laboratory at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding.

Earlier, Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych stated that after the war ends, the city may face a shortage of workers.
