Ukraine will build the country's first digital substation. DTEK has attracted a €11 million grant from the French government to build the country's first digital substation in partnership with GE Vernova, an international power equipment company.

This was reported by DTEK.

The total cost of the project will be 15 million euros, of which DTEK's own investments will amount to 4 million euros. The construction of the new substation will provide electricity to more than 65,000 households and businesses in one of the regions of Ukraine affected by the war. The exact location is not disclosed for security reasons.

Construction will start in the third quarter of 2025. The facility will be part of DTEK's large-scale project to modernise distribution grids based on Smart Grid technologies — «Grids of the Future».

DTEK emphasised that the digital substation is one of 19 energy infrastructure projects financed by France under the €200 million «Fund for Ukraine».

Earlier it was reported that DTEK energy company is investing €450 million in the construction of the second stage of the Tilihul wind farm in Mykolaiv region.
