Zelenskyy: Russian troops violated «Easter truce» more than 2,000 times

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, photo: pravdatutnews.comSince the beginning of 20 April, Russian troops have violated the ceasefire declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the eve of Easter more than two thousand times.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy after receiving a report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
A total of 67 attacks were recorded in different parts of the frontline, with the greatest enemy activity observed in the Pokrovsk sector. According to the President, Russian troops carried out 1,355 attacks, 713 of which involved the use of heavy weapons, and used 673 FPV drones.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that no attacks using long-range missiles or drones were recorded on 20 April.
As a reminder, the Kremlin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not order the extension of the so-called «Easter truce», which Russian troops did not adhere to after midnight on 19 April.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the so-called «Easter truce». The Russians declared their readiness to cease fire from the evening of 19 April to midnight on 21 April, but only if Ukraine complied with the ceasefire.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on another Russian attack with attack drones that took place after 17:00 on Saturday, 19 April. According to him, this demonstrates the true attitude of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Easter and human life.
Subsequently, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, noted that Russian drone attacks continued in the region after 18:00, when the Russians allegedly announced an «Easter truce». He noted that there is currently no «lull».
Later, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian side was ready for a full and unconditional ceasefire, but would act in a mirror image if Russia continued to shell. The President outlined this position in his address on 19 April.
