In Mykolaiv, 25 points of resilience are operating during this difficult period of power shortages and severe frosts. At the same time, their attendance remains low — as of today, 2,880 people have used the services of these points, and only six in the past 24 hours.

This became known during an open staff meeting on Monday, 2 February, according to correspondents from NikVesti.

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych noted that he regularly receives reports on the work of the Resilience Centres, but current attendance remains «insignificant».

Deputy Mayor Anatolii Petrov said that all 25 centres have been equipped in accordance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and provided with everything necessary for full operation.

«As of today, they have been visited by 2,880 people, 205 in a week, and 2,316 in a month,» he said.

First Deputy Mayor Vitalii Lukov emphasised that only six people visited the Points of Invincibility in Mykolaiv last Saturday. According to the mayor, this is due to the relatively stable situation in the city's power system in recent times.

«On Saturday, we had more electricity, so, of course, there were fewer people. Perhaps now it is mainly those who just need to chat or drink tea who go there,» commented Oleksandr Sienkevych.

The mayor also inquired whether all points were supplied with cookies. Vitalii Lukov clarified that cookies are available at all locations, but the city is currently planning to organise their purchase through public organisations, as this is currently being done at the expense of the establishments' employees.

The head of the Central District Administration, Oleksandr Bereza, in turn, stated that in some areas of the city there are Points of Resilience that no one uses. Oleksandr Sienkevych emphasised that during the cold spell, all points will operate as usual, regardless of the number of visitors.

«People must be on duty and wait for visitors. Because if we close the point, someone will definitely come and say, 'It was closed.' No one will write about the fact that they are working, but everyone will write about one closed (point, — note),» the mayor concluded.

Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of 2026, 4,397 people have already visited the Points of Invincibility in the Mykolaiv region. In total, since the beginning of the heating season on 1 November, 18,917 Mykolaiv residents have used their services.
