In Mykolaiv, the executive committee plans to transfer the functions of distributing housing for internally displaced persons. Currently, such housing funds and their distribution are approved by a session decision.

The decision was supported by the commission on human rights, children, family, legality, and transparency, according to NikVesti.

Serhii Voitovych, head of the housing registration and allocation department of the Mykolaiv City Council, explained that with the changes in legislation, the city council must officially determine which body will form and allocate temporary housing for people who have been forced to leave their homes.

«Currently, there are five apartments that were abandoned and renovated by the charity organisation Caritas. We want to include them in the housing fund for IDPs. Once this decision is adopted at the session, we will be able to form such funds by decision of the executive committee to speed up the process,» said Serhii Voitovych.

At the same time, the chair of the commission, Olena Kiseliova, proposed to inform the commission and send the compiled lists.

«Because the commission's minutes have a history, even a public one. And then it will be clear when and where it happened. So that interested parties know where to look. Plus, this would add transparency and integrity,» she believes.

It should be noted that there are 65 modular houses for internally displaced persons in the Mykolaiv region.

In addition, the first two families of displaced persons received farmhouse-type houses, which were built in the village of Domanivka in the Mykolaiv region at the expense of the Kingdom of Denmark.

At the same time, in Voznesensk, 1.5 million hryvnias were allocated from the city budget to purchase apartments for internally displaced persons. After the purchase, the housing is planned to be renovated with funds from donors.

We would also like to remind you that organisations providing shelter to displaced persons will be able to rent state and municipal premises for a symbolic fee: from one hryvnias per year or 0.01 of the calculated rate.
