The municipal enterprise «Parks» has stated that the company serves all districts of Mykolaiv

Dmytro Chuchmai, director of Mykolaiv Parks, stated that from 1 January 2026, Mykolaiv has completely stopped using contractors. Currently, all cleaning and landscaping work is carried out by the municipal enterprise.

He spoke about this during a conversation with Mykolaiv activist Dmytro Riabchenko, reports NikVesti.

According to Dmytro Chuchmai, in 2023 the enterprise began operating in the Zavodskyi district, and in 2024 in the Tsentralnyi district. Subsequently, it moved on to servicing the Korabelnyi and Inhulskyi districts. In the first half of 2025, Mykolaiv Parks began operating in the Korabelnyi district, and from 31 December 2025 — across the whole city.

«There are no contractors at present. The company provides 100% of the city’s services. We carry out work across the entire area: grass cutting, cleaning, maintenance of bus stops and so on. Until 1 January 2026, contractors were still operating only in the Inhulskyi district. When the company began operations in 2022, we gradually moved towards a situation where there were no contractors in Mykolaiv, and all work was carried out by the municipal enterprise,» said Dmytro Chuchmai.

He added that the company serves the entire territory of Mykolaiv, except for inner-neighbourhood areas.

Dmytro Chuchmai had previously stated that trees could not be planted in Mykolaiv this spring due to a lack of funding. The necessary expenditure had been planned, but no funds were allocated to the company from the city budget.

It is worth noting that for Mykolaiv, the issue of greening is becoming more acute every year, as thousands of trees are felled annually. Millions of hryvnias are spent on maintaining green spaces, yet residents are complaining en masse about diseased and damaged trees in parks and squares. Most residents are dissatisfied with the quality of green areas and public spaces.

How does the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks operate?

Funding for the Mykolaiv Parks municipal enterprise has increased significantly over the last five years — from 8.6 million hryvnias in 2020 to 167.2 million hryvnias in 2023. In 2024, the enterprise’s budget stood at 144 million hryvnias, which is slightly less than in the previous year.

At the same time, as of August 2024, the municipal enterprise had 262 staff members. This is six times more than in 2021, when the figure stood at 39 people. However, the enterprise still needs around 400 more staff members, said director Dmytro Chuchmai.
